Largest Negotiation Points Between Parties:
The North Vietnam party were able to include the statement that "the United States and all other countries respect the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Vietnam as recognised by the 1954 Geneva Agreements on Vietnam" which meant that the communists were able to go to war as it was not a foreign aggression against South Vietnam. Despite all the efforts put into the agreements, the Paris Peace Accords never completely took place. Not long after signing both South and North Vietnam blatantly violated many of the agreements (especially North Vietnam.) One of these violations was the North Vietnamese troops and the Viet Cong attacking southern provinces. The war ended two years later with the fall of Saigon. |
